Seems Like AT&T is Kicking 4G LTE Speeds Up a Notch in Puerto Rico

I lived in the southern area of the island of Puerto Rico and since the iPhone 5 came out on September of last year I'm constantly testing speeds of AT&T's 4G LTE network. I do this in order to see if there are any improvements, or worse, if the network fails to work as advertised. I do the same with various other companies' networks, but since my primary phone runs on AT&T's, I find myself testing its network more.

T-mobile Puerto Rico Offers Its Own Trade-in Program for Those Wishing to Switch

T-mobile Puerto Rico announced today their own trade-in program for new iPhone customers. Those with iPhone 4 or 4S that want to switch to T-mobile can receive up to $259 in credit for their new iPhone 5 or as credit in their new T-mobile accounts.

iPhone 5 Gets Warm Welcome at T-mobile

The iPhone 5 debuted on T-mobile last Friday. The Apple device was received warmly by new and existing customers. Reports of lines appeared shortly after stores opened seem to back that up. The new direction the company is taking with no contract plans appeared to draw enough attention to those folks looking for an iPhone. In Puerto Rico, T-mobile doesn't offer the new UnCarrier plans (no contract plans, but do offer the iPhone at $99 and the option to get unlimited voice and data for $69.

iOS 6.1 Brings LTE Support to the iPhone 5 on Claro Puerto Rico and Open Mobile

iOS 6.1 update included 4G LTE support for more carriers around the world. As detailed in Apple's LTE document, among these carriers we found two from Puerto Rico, Claro and Open Mobile.

Sprint Expands its 4G LTE Coverage in the US and Puerto Rico

Sprint announced today that it has expanded its 4G LTE coverage in some cities in the US and Puerto Rico. Aguadilla, Isabela, Cabo Rojo and Mayagüez now join Ponce, Coamo, Yauco, Salinas, Santa Isabel and Guayama to extend Sprint's 4G LTE coverage accross the island. The company also announced that it is currently working to improve 3G coverage in Puerto Rico.

AT&T Extends 4G LTE Coverage in Puerto Rico to Guayama, Yauco and San Germán-Cabo Rojo

AT&T Puerto Rico announced on Monday that it has expanded its 4G LTE coverage in the south, southwest area of the island. The municipalities that now join AT&T’s 4G LTE coverage are Guayama, Yauco and the area of San Germán – Cabo Rojo.

Who Will Carry the iPhone 5 in Puerto Rico

A question that always comes with a new iPhone is, is the new iPhone going to be available in Puerto Rico from day one? Almost immediately is easy to know these days that AT&T will be selling it from day one. But just in case we waited for confirmation yesterday and we received it shortly after Apple's event.
