Apple Unveils New iPad Air and iPad mini

On its iPad event today, Apple announced the 5th generation iPad, now called iPad Air, and the 2nd generation iPad mini. The new iPad Air is thinner and lighter at just 1 pound and 7.5mm thin. It sports a 9.7-inch display, 5mp iSight camera, dual microphones and iOS 7.
The iPad Air gets a bump in performance thanks to the A7 64-bit processor, which gives it up to two times better performance in both CPU and GPU.

Meanwhile, the new iPad mini finally gets Retina Display and also gets a 5mp iSight camera and improved performance with the A7 64-bit processor, which bumps its performance up to 4 times on CPU and up to 8 times on GPU.
The new iPad Air will be available on November 1st starting at $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi version in the following countries:
- US, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, China (Wi-Fi models only), Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macao (Wi-Fi models only), Macedonia, Montenegro, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
The 2nd gen iPad mini with Retina Display will be available later on November for $399 for the 16Gb Wi-Fi version; original iPad mini will stay and now be available for $299.
