Blogging platform/social network was acquired by Yahoo!, the announcement was issued earlier today. The 1.1 billion dollar deal lets Tumblr be independent; Yahoo! will retain Tumblr employees, and expects to increase its audience in a 50% and increase its traffic in 20%. There are no perceived changes for Tumblr users, although Yahoo! plans to add more ads to Tumblr's Dashboard.
